The first forum of the regions of Belarus and Ukraine resulted in contracts for about 100 million dollars. They will replenish the treasury of commodity turnover, which, according to the ambitious plans of the Presidents, should reach 8-10 billion dollars.
In the future, breakthroughs are expected from interregional ties. This is cooperation in agriculture, petrochemistry, infrastructure modernization - Belarus is ready to share its experience with Ukraine in terms of improving utilities, renewing its fleet of vehicles, road construction.
Life proves that it is this kind of contact format turns out to be the most effective for the economy. The idea of our President to hold the forum was reasonably supported by Kiev. No matter how the political situation in the region develops, Belarus clearly adheres to the line on the development of a dialogue with all its neighbors.
Belarusians and Ukrainians used it not only to establish contacts, but also to once again advertise their capabilities to each other.
One and a half hundred Belarusian and Ukrainian companies presented their know-hows. There are no difficulties in cooperation, it was felt that the negotiations in Gomel were held in the spirit of good neighborliness.
For the second year in a row, trade shows about 20% growth. But the figure can be much more. Our equipment has long been present in the Ukrainian market. Belarusians are constantly updating the fleet of passenger, utility and special vehicles of Ukrain. Together we produce combine harvesters, lifting equipment, trolley buses, tractors.
5 assembly plants in our country produce cars, trucks, equipment for the agro-industrial complex. The co-operation is promoted by companies with joint capital.
Last year alone, over 2,000 tractors, 90 combines, and 500 elevators were manufactured at joint assembly plants in Ukraine. We traditionally purchase metal in Ukraine, in a wide range of components for the machine-building complex, as well as agricultural raw materials and products for the development of animal husbandry and other sectors of agriculture and the food industry. Emphasis should be placed on building joint ventures that manufacture products for third-country markets.
