Low loss of winter crops observed in Belarus

7 апреля 2015

This year a record low loss of winter crops is observed in Belarus. According to experts, it should not exceed 6 percent in the whole country. The average figure in the previous years was about 8 percent.

This year, it is planned to sow about two and a half million hectares of grains crops and grain legumes.

Meanwhile, sowing campaign is actively carried out in the country. Spring crops already occupy two-thirds of agricultural areas. Farmers of the Brest and Gomel regions have already coped with the task. Grodno farmers still have 40 percent of the areas left for sowing. Slightly more than half is left in the metropolitan area. The northern part of the country has accomplished 10% of the sowing task.
