Belarus reduces refinancing rate from 18 to 17 per cent per annum

Such a decision was dictated by the objective reasons. On the one hand it is meant to reduce inflation, on the other to save the stability of deposits and the currency market. Bankers have assured: reduction of interest on other loans will be smooth. It is about 2-3 percent. And it depends on many factors.

Natalia Sokolova, Executive Director of the Commercial Bank:

"Interest rates on our loans will be from 16 to 20-23 per cent, depending on the term of the loan, depending on the assets provided as collateral and a number of specific parameters."

Last year, the refinancing rate was reduced four times, starting from 25 per cent per annum to 18%.
