20 new innovative industries opened in 2018

Half of the new innovative industries launched last year reached their design capacity. This was announced today at a meeting of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers devoted to implementation of the State Program for Innovative Development until 2020. 

In 2018, 20 enterprises were opened, the output of nano-products was doubled, with 60 percent of them being exported and 3,000 jobs created. Among the bright projects is the first Belarusian computer tomograph, a new line of microcircuits, a biotechnological company for the production of amino acids.

Not all projects are implemented in a timely manner. The backlog will be eliminated this year, taking into account the refinement of equipment and technology. One of the examples is Gomelsteklo with its poor use of innovative funds. Therefore, a clear system of search and selection of high-tech projects is needed.
