Minsk next year's budget to remain socially oriented

The budget provides for numerous salary increases for education and health workers. The main financial document has been discussed today at Minsk City Executive Committee. The city budget is deficit-free, but social spending will increase by 9 percent. Additional money inflow will be attracted by the World Ice Hockey Championship in Minsk.
Alexander Kernazhitsky, Head of the Minsk City Executive Committee Financial Department: We are planning to get significant revenue from tourism and the hotel industry. Next year, the gross regional product is expected to grow by 4%, inclusive of additional revenues.
Next year's budget will be approved and accepted by Minsk City Council by the end of the year.
