Council of the Republic approves draft budget for 2020

The draft budget is formed with a deficit. A budget saving mode has been introduced. Nevertheless, obligations regarding social policy will be fully implemented.

Budget policy will determine the income, which will be formed by export, tax revenues and excise taxes.

The main financial document provides for raising the salaries of state employees, supporting regions, creating new jobs, building housing for large families. 

The draft budget provides funds to extend the financing of family capital, to provide one-time financial assistance to veterans on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Victory. The construction of housing for large families will receive a billion rubles. 3.5 times more will be allocated to infrastructure in residential buildings and about 15 billion rubles to public sector salaries.

Maksim Yermolovich, Minister of Finance of Belarus:

“We expect the average monthly increase in wages to be about 80 rubles per budget employee compared to the average wage at the current year. In general, the average wage of state employees next year will exceed 920 rubles. We plan to increase wages in healthcare, education."

5 billion rubles will be allocated  to local budgets. The draft document was adopted unanimously. It will be sent for approval by the Head of the State.
