Situation in Belarusian industry discussed at meeting with A. Lukashenko

The development of new markets, support for enterprises in the context of sanctions and the maintenance of industrial growth rates were discussed at the Palace of Independence.

Alexander Lukashenko, receiving a report from the profile Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, noted that enterprises managed to increase exports despite coronavirus. Now it is 140 %. The trade surplus is almost $ 1,5 billion. Only 36 out of 47 enterprises remained unprofitable. And this is achieved amid Polish and Lithuanian calls for another mythical strike.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus:

First of all, I would like to hear an objective assessment of the work of the Ministry of Industry for the current period. What does the end of this year bring, taking into account those actions against the Republic of Belarus from our Western partners? I am interested not only in production, export, warehouse stocks, but also finance. How do industrial enterprises operate? You have visited several countries at exhibitions, held negotiations. What place do we occupy there? The African market, which we have been developing, is of particular interest. We have agreed with Putin that it is time for us to develop the production of microelectronics. We should develop more intensively in this respect in order to reach a competitive level.

The exports account for more than 70 % of production. The President once again called to support Belaz, MAZ, Amkodor. The workers and their families should not suffer from the rash decisions of Western politicians. Alexander Lukashenko also congratulated all industrialists on the upcoming holiday - the Machine Builders Day.
