The situation on consumer market, as well as salaries of state employees, discussed at meeting with President

The situation in the consumer market is stable. The Head of the State was interested in the forecast of the development of the domestic market in the current conditions and paid close attention to essential products and socially significant goods. Constant monitoring of the value of the consumer basket and its regulation are required by Alexander Lukashenko. The President more than once instructed the antimonopoly department, trade unions, together with the State Control Committee, to keep prices under control and prevent their unreasonable growth. 

There is no shortage and rush in the consumer market.

Vladimir Koltovich, Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of Belarus: "The most important thing is that commodity supply and prices in the domestic consumer market are manageable, predictable and stable."

Food prices rose a little more than 1% in April. The leaders in price increase are onions, garlic and citrus fruits. Pork, bananas became cheaper, prices for cucumbers fell by a third. The antimonopoly department demanded that all retail chains adjust the value of socially important goods, which is about 30 items. The list was replenished with goods for which there was high demand at the beginning of spring, including masks and antiseptics.
