By Alexey Kondratenko: Machine-builders of Minsk Region renew their model range and expand the order book. In August, CJSC Belgee is expected to present new passenger cars made at the new factory near Borisov. And today, Stadler Minsk presented their latest trams. The company from Fanipol received a large order from St. Petersburg.

Chizhik is the new brand that will be exported to the city on the Neva River. The total number of trams is 23, and there are 6 of them in the first batch. At first known as Metelitsa, this low-floor electric transport has been designed largely by experts from Fanipol. The vehicle is quite unique in the CIS, as it is 33 m long and it can take 376 passengers. It has enough space for passengers with limited mobility, Wi-Fi, USB charging, information displays, air conditioning, and many other features that will make it very comfortable.

Today, the same innovative electric transport is involved in the commercial exploitation in Minsk. In the future, these trams may appear in the streets of Minsk on an ongoing basis. Another horizon for Stadler-Minsk is an order for Minsk Metro. 10 new trains are expected to be produced in the next two years.
