Roman Golovchenko takes part in opening of BelAZ competence center

The allied response of Minsk and Moscow to Western sanctions, strengthening of cooperation and the creation of new projects, the development of technological potential were discussed at the talks in St. Petersburg on March 30. 

The heads of government are discussing long-term cooperation between Belarus and Russia. The program of the working visit of the Belarusian Prime Minister is very intense. On March 30, Roman Golovchenko took part in a business forum, and afterwards in the opening of the BelAZ competence center in the Mining University of St. Petersburg. This innovative platform will bring together the best machine-building and digital technology in the mining industry. In the conditions of sanctions, the importance of cooperation goes to a new level, the partners noted. And BelAZ is ready to lend a hand to its colleagues. Belarusian giants, as before, will work at the Russian deposits. Our neighbors can also count on the feasible assistance in matters of import substitution. 

Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of Belarus:

“Belarus has long been under sanctions. That is why we started this work much earlier. We have resolved all issues of import substitution. By the way, most of the components in BelAZ are Russian. In essence, it is a genuine Union State product.” 

Businessmen of Belarus and St. Petersburg to step up cooperation

The businesses from Belarus and St. Petersburg will join their efforts, too. The parties have confirmed their readiness to intensify trade and cooperation. Sanctions force to step up the work in this direction. Today, the Belarusian Prime Minister underscored that countries should rely on their own power, while independence in production and technology is an insurance policy against external dictatorship in the future.
