Terms and source of supply of 6 million tons of oil to be announced next week

As long as there are disputes and the intergovernmental agreement between Moscow and Minsk is not implemented, a number of independent Russian companies supply oil to Belarus at world prices without bonuses. Also, in February we have already processed a batch of quality oil from Norway, and in March we announced light oil supplies from Azerbaijan.

We expect to know the terms and source of supply of 6 million tons of oil next week. We can talk about a global revision of the entire European black gold market. 

Thus, given the difficult negotiations with Russia, which are repeated year after year, the President gave a clear instruction to the government to work on diversifying supplies. Belarus considers it economically inexpedient, moreover, it's pointless to pay bonuses to Russian oil companies in the same amount (video). 

Under the current circumstances, alternative sources are simply necessary. 

Odessa-Brody oil pipeline is ready to deliver oil from the Black Sea to us. These are raw materials from Azerbaijan's Socar oil state company. It confirmed: the cooperation will be long-term. There were three tankers in March alone. The total volume is 250 thousand tons of oil. We expect up to a million tons in a year for Mozyr Refinery.

The President reminded of serious intentions on the part of the USA and financial support for the construction of the Baltic Pipe.  And we are ready for negotiations with other partners on supplies of Kazakh, Romanian, Middle East (Iraqi and Iranian) oil. In the present conditions, when the world prices for oil are falling, it is possible to bargain.

Oil quotations continue to decline in anticipation of OPEC's decision to reduce production. The day before the auction ended at a mark for 49 dollars per barrel.
