Food security discussion to continue in Minsk

20 июня 2017

Food security and climate change will continue being discussed today in Minsk. Yesterday, the taste and quality of Belarusian products was praised by the Programs Coordinator of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization’s Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia. Raimund Jehle believes that the agriculture sector is well developed in Belarus. He expressed particular interest in the meat and dairy industry.

One of FAO’s important aspects today is achieving sustainable food production and agriculture in the context of global climate change, as well as implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement on climate change.

One of FAO’s major regional initiatives is to empower small farmers and develop agro-food trade.
