Belarus President: I have never seen such rape in my entire life!

The famous experimental presidential fields are located at the border of the Mogilev and Vitebsk regions, where various approaches in agriculture are tried: growing new crops, applying the latest technologies. This is a standard of agriculture in Belarus located in the zone of risky agriculture. Winter barley shows good results this year. This is a solution for Vitebsk Region, the President stressed. The question of how to get a sufficient amount of quality grain is also relevant for some other regions of the country. For now just over 60 thousand hectares of this crop out of five million hectares of arable land have been sown in Belarus - this is not enough. At the same time, the Belarusian leader emphasized that the most important thing in this matter is technology!

Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus:

"I believe we need to return to more intensive cultivation of winter barley to address the usual challenge of grain crops. One thing I was concerned about last year, when I made this tough decision, was whether we could get more than just yields. We need good quality grain. If we get 10 million tons, we will be happy. We need to do it on the same areas, without reducing the volume of rape and other crops through intensive farming. This year has shown that winter barley is a miracle. I have never seen such fields of winter barley, first of all. Secondly, I have not seen many fields of grain like this. I am here for the third time this year: when the seed was sown, when it sprouted, and now, at the moment of grain filling. I am absolutely convinced that we need winter barley."

The task regarding rape is to reach a million tons. The cultivation of this crop is another topic of the President's working trip. Alexander Lukashenko was also pleased with the rape field - a good harvest is expected. The cultivation experience should be extended to other farms throughout the country.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus:

"Rape means money for farmers. Today even during these frantic sanctions Europe asks for rape oil. We must reach a million tones of harvest. Here is the key question. This will be a turning point in the agriculture. We need to cultivate both winter barley and rape."

Right on the field, the mandatory tasting of the very products for which there are queues in Europe is a topic that is especially relevant against the backdrop of the sunflower crisis in the world.
