The winners of the national contest Best Exporter 2017 were awarded in Minsk. 22 Belarusian enterprises received awards. The finals of the competition listed 160 companies that are involved in different sectors of the economy. The organizers estimate that over the year, the total amount of the exports of the finalists of the competition exceeded 11 billion dollars, and the geography of their products and services covered 119 countries. Belarus has expanded its export potential last year by 46 new directions.
Vladimir Ulakhovich, the Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry: "Our industry’s flagships are first of all machine building, as well as chemical industry. Among the new branches where we have made serious progress are pharmaceuticals and woodworking."
Vasily Shostak, the First Deputy Director of the Marketing Centre of OJSC "BELAZ" - Management Company of Holding "BELAZ-HOLDING": "We are paying serious attention to the diversification of sales markets, with priority in the current direction is Latin America. We see great potential in the countries of the African continent, and we also see a huge prospect on the Asian market."
According to the organizers of the contest, almost 40% of the participants are small and medium-sized enterprises.
