Pellet plant launched near Pruzhany

27 мая 2020
A pellet plant was launched in Pruzhany District. Such enterprises should be established in each area, according to the President. It can bring about 18 million dollars a year.

What was considered industrial waste is now a valuable raw material. Pellets began to be made from wood chips: granules for heating homes and industrial premises. A new plant was built next to the existing enterprise.

A small woodworking workshop would produce a large amount of waste in 3 hours of operation. Wood chips were used to be sent to a warehouse. They will become an export product with the advent of new production.

Chips, which remains after deforestation, will be brought to the plant.

According to the leadership of the new enterprise, the demand for pellets is large. The plant was barely launched, and there are already potential buyers for the product. It is planned that 90% of production will be exported.

20000 tons of pellets per year will be made in Pruzhany District.

Pellet plants will be built in each region of Belarus, as the Head of the State instructed. New processing plants will be more powerful and will increase exports. The country's forestry will earn about $18 million a year on pellets, according to the preliminary estimates. A ton of pellets costs 90 euros in Europe.

Over the past ten years, Belarus began to harvest twice as much wood. One of the reasons for massive felling is the bark beetle: a parasite that causes the drying of the entire massifs. New trees have been planted instead of the felled ones in Belarus. Wood materials from Brest Region are supplied to most European countries and China. The export will become even wider with the new production. Another pellet plant has already begun to be designed in the region in Ivatsevichi District.
