Chinese Foreign Ministry: sanctions are not an effective solution

The fact that the sanctions confrontation does not lead to a constructive solution to the conflict has long been discussed in Belarus. This position is supported in Beijing, too.

Zhao Lijian, spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of China:
Sanctions are not an effective solution, but rather will accelerate the spread of the Ukrainian crisis and lead to new complicated problems. China calls on all parties concerned to do more to promote peace talks and open space for political solutions.Because of the sanctions blockade, more than 600 hundred thousand children in the world are already suffering from exhaustion. In the poor countries of Africa, as well as throughout the world, food prices are rising. The humanitarian situation is getting worse every day.
