A new development center for the resident of the High-Tech Park, the South Korean company SK Hynix was presented in Minsk today. This is the company’s only representation in Eastern Europe. The Korean business makes impressive investment into the Belarusian IT market. The leadership of the HTP regards the arrival of such world giants in our country as the result of work on creating an effective legal framework for the construction and development of an IT-country.
The Korean company came to Belarus four years ago, and today it is ready to expand cooperation. The new office is two thousand square meters. The staff increased threefold, to almost 200 people. And this, according to businessmen, is just the beginning. Mostly Belarusian specialists work here, demonstrating a high class in the development of microcircuits.
The Korean company is the largest and fastest growing chip maker in the world. Its chips and RAM are installed on almost all computers of leading manufacturers of office equipment. Last year, it earned about $ 30 billion, increasing revenue by 80 percent. This year it has already shown the growth of 20 percent. The Belarusian representation has made its contribution to this result.
