Financial Literacy Week kicks off in Belarus

13 марта 2018

The 2018 Financial Literacy Week has started in Belarus. Such events are held all over the world. This year's theme is "Money Matters". The organizers focus on the importance of budgeting and planning one’s personal finances. The head of the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange noted that Belarusians are still reluctant to buy foreign currency via provider banks. This is due to the issues that arise when working with the service.

Andrei Aukhimenya, the Chair of the Board of the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange: "There are technical issues on the part of providers, which we are now working to eliminate. The service will develop in a unique way, as it is an alternative to the interbank market. The exchange market is a competitive market. It is well-organized and civilized. In this market, a fair price is formed, and we are expecting that more individuals will join it, and their share will increase."

The Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange will not conduct operations with crypto-currencies, though. This service is reserved for the Hi-Tech Park Belarus only.
