In Belarus, individual farms are engaged in the cultivation and processing of this oily culture. Four of them are located in Brest Region. Agrarians feel the economic perspective. Previously, they had to buy it for the currency fr om our southern neighbors, Ukraine, wh ere sunflower plantations are numerous. At the enterprise the whole cycle of sunflower production is provided: from cultivation to processing.
Another line for processing sunflower appeared in the feed mill in the agricultural enterprise "Komarovka" of Brest Region. This is a high-protein product, which is used in the future for the production of mixed fodders for cattle.
Victor Demyanchik, deputy director of Polesskiy Agrarian and Ecological Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus: "Seed breeding is better and more economical in the southern regions, and the cultivation itself, especially for the green mass, is quite optimal."
It is necessary to harvest sunflower as quickly as possible. After all, the main enemy of culture in this crucial period in our climatic conditions is rain.
