The 3rd Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, which has launched today in Minsk, will be attended by the President of Belarus. Tomorrow, Alexander Lukashenko is expected to address a plenary session and hold a bilateral meeting with Vladimir Putin. The talks are scheduled to take place at the Palace of Independence.

Today, the event started with negotiations in the Council of the Republic. It is the upper chamber of Belarusian Parliament and Russia’s Federation Council are the organisers of the Forum of Regions. At a meeting with Valentina Matviyenko, Mikhail Myasnikovich assumed that contracts worth at least 300 million dollars might be signed in Minsk at this time. This demonstrates quite a high basis in the trade and economic sphere, as well as the fact that there are reserves and they can be built up.

The international exhibition Belagro 2016, timed to coincide with the Forum, is currently taking place in the territory of Minsk 1 Airport. It is featuring more than 500 companies from 20 countries.

Today has seen the signing of an agreement on cooperation between the capitals of the two countries. This is one of the main events as part of the Days of Moscow in Minsk, which are also timed to the 3rd Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia.
