Moscow is ready to resolve issues of compensation for pumping low-quality oil through the pipeline Druzhba. This was announced today by Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Rumas, following talks with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev. The meeting was held in Gorki near Moscow. The partners confirmed their mutual interest in starting pumping high-quality raw materials in the direction of Western Europe. At the start of the next week, the displacement of dirty oil back to Russia will begin. This will free up the pipeline for high quality hydrocarbons. Minsk and Moscow have confirmed in the roadmap all the measures necessary to restore the supply and transit of oil in the previous volumes. The roadmap also contains a set of questions regarding compensation for damage from dirty raw materials.

A special working group will assess the actual losses due to the state of emergency in the Druzhba pipeline. The first step towards solving the problem will be pumping out the dirty oil from pipes. This will help resume transit to European consumers.

The Prime Ministers of Belarus and Russia also considered a number of integration issues and instructed the ministers of economy of the two countries to resolve all disagreements within a month. At the end of June, Sergei Rumas and Dmitry Medvedev are planning to hold another meeting.
