The sets of equipment of the new data transmission standard were installed on two large unmanned vehicles, a dump truck and a loader. The partner of the innovation project was the domestic infrastructure operator becloud.

The cloud solutions provider organized a 5G autonomous test network at BelAZ test site. It is important to assess the capabilities of heavy vehicles with minimal information transfer delays. After all, for such giants a split second can become decisive.

By the way, the transition to 5G was defined as a strategic goal. This task was set in 2015 by the President. And at a recent meeting on the development of information and communication technologies in March and when visiting the HTP two weeks ago, the Head of State clarified the tasks. New technologies should penetrate all areas of the real economy - from medicine to engineering.

By creating new high-tech schools and acquiring new competences, the republic not only develops the high-tech industry and the export IT potential, but also modernizes the already existing economy according to digitalization standards.

If yesterday the Internet of things was something abstract, today, the exchange of data in an automatic mode without human intervention between different systems in the housing and utilities sector, industry, transport, and logistics has become an absolute reality. Moreover, telecommunications are simply inseparable from the digital transformation of the economy.
