Initially being an international presentational project, the four-day meeting under the auspices of the Government of Belarus has developed into a multi-purpose platform for various exhibitions and symposiums. Most of them are dedicated to resource conservation and modernization. Thus, the GDP energy intensity in Belarus is expected to decline by 7 percent and the use of local fuels - to grow by a quarter. Modernization should affect every single production and the country's economy as a whole. Use of resources must become more efficient. Over the last year Belarus has saved half a million tons of standard coal.
