At the 61st session of the IAEA General Conference, he held meetings with Deputy Minister of Energy of our country Mikhail Mikhadyuk and Ambassador of Belarus in Austria and Permanent Representative of the International Organization in Vienna Elena Kupchina. Amano was briefed on the progress in the construction of the nuclear power plant and received an invitation to visit Belarus. Earlier today, Amano was re-elected to the post of IAEA Director General. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated Yukiya Amano on his appointment for the next term. "I am confident that your rich professional and life experience will continue to contribute to the success of the IAEA's honorable mission in promoting global efforts in the field of peaceful nuclear technologies, non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, security and sustainable development," the message says.
