Lukashenko: Сooperation between Belarus and Leningrad Region can be example of cooperation

2 июня 2022

Further deepening of the union integration in today's realities is fully justified. The main thing is to seek the implementation of the decisions taken. Cooperation between Belarus and Leningrad Region is an example.

This is what they are talking about in Minsk today. A delegation from the Leningrad Region headed by the Governor is visiting our capital city. The prospects are being discussed with the President. The region is our reliable partner. No matter what happens, the trade is growing. There are many new avenues of cooperation, stresses Alexander Lukashenko: cooperation in agriculture, supplies of machinery, construction of social facilities is strong in these areas. And we are ready to strengthen the economic ties. Our interest in the region is also due to good access to the sea: Belarusian companies are already involved in major projects to develop port infrastructure in Ust-Luga.

Belarus and the Leningrad Region have long-standing relations. This is in many respects the merit of the present Governor Alexander Drozdenko. He has been the Governor of the region for 10 years and has visited Belarus many times. This year's visit is aimed at boosting trade and cooperation. His program is packed. The delegation will visit a number of enterprises, hold negotiations in the administration and take part in the sitting of the commission on the development of the bilateral cooperation.
