Today Alexander Lukashenko held talks with Igor Artamonov, governor of Russia's Lipetsk Region, at the Palace of Independence.

As the President noted, Minsk and Lipetsk have traded for $330 million. However, there is a more ambitious goal - half a billion. Alexander Lukashenko expressed confidence that we will conquer this figure in the near future.

"We are, if I dare say so, reaping the benefits of, I do not dare to say it, momentous decisions within the framework of our union of Belarus and Russia. In this area, as Alexander Lukashenko reminded, many decisions were taken at the level of the heads of state. "By taking momentous decisions we supported our governments and ministers in the development of cooperation, first of all industrial cooperation," said the Belarusian leader.

The President drew attention to the serious progress of Russia in agriculture. It happened with Belarus' participation. And now high-tech industries, especially microelectronics, are on the agenda of bilateral cooperation.

The development of industrial cooperation and, of course, technological sovereignty are the key directions of Belarus-Russia relations. Import substitution is also being actively pursued. One of the milestone projects in cooperation with Lipetsk region is the work with Amkodor. The construction of the assembly production of machinery on the basis of the local tractor plant is a good starting point.

The region is also implementing a program for the development of urban electric transport. Belarus is ready to supply a full range of passenger and agricultural vehicles. Cooperation in the agro-industrial complex is also seen as having great potential. In particular, we are ready to participate in the programs on modernization of grain drying complexes, supplies of elite seeds, fodder and additives. In addition, our specialists are ready to assist in the design and construction of new facilities.
