Alexander Lukashenko instructs government to take retaliatory measures against Lithuania, if necessary

The impact of Western sanctions policy on the work of Belarusian enterprises is the subject of another meeting in the Palace of Independence. The President heard the reports of Prime Minister, as well as the heads of Belaruskali and Belarusian Potash Company. The industry, one of the largest in the country's export portfolio, has faced unprecedented obstacles to its work.

Official Lithuania has for months threatened to stop the transit of our potash fertilizers via its territory. Minsk is forced to respond! Alexander Lukashenko said - we will respond to this challenge by taking radical decisions.

The President announced that he would soon familiarize himself with the work of other Belarusian companies under pressure, including Belavia and the petrochemical sector.

Alexander Lukashenko's position is unchanged: sanctions are, in the first place, the lever of economic pressure and a way to oust competitors from the market. The government must use all resources to prevent the impact of sanctions on the well-being of citizens.
