The announced meeting of the two leaders was awaited with particular interest by both journalists and experts.  Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin have been talking for a total of 8 hours.

As the world's largest exporter of oil and gas, Russia uses this trump card not only in the economic sphere, but also in politics. Yet, in 2 decades we somehow passed the test of strength and found mutual understanding on sensitive issues.

Vitaly Demirov, Counselor and Consultant at the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Studies: "It is essential that the President said that it is necessary to achieve equal economic conditions in the prices of oil, gas and other carriers, this condition is the fundamental criterion of our allied construction and mutual development of our countries".

Several rounds of negotiations were held in Sochi. The main dialogue took place without the press. Given the global climate situation and the price situation on the markets, adjustments in our favor are not excluded. This is how they commented on the results of the negotiations in the Belarusian government. And the range of issues was much wider than just hydrocarbons.
