Budget for next year discussed at Palace of Independence

The economy has come under serious pressure from outside, but Belarus has managed to maintain economic growth.

The President of Belarus stated that at the meeting on the socio-economic development of the country. The results of 10 months of 2021 are positive: the GDP growth amounted to almost 2,5%. At the same time, despite numerous negative forecasts, the results show the best rates over the past 12 years, especially when it comes to exports. The President set a task to increase sales of goods and services to foreign markets and invest in a competitive industry: Belarus now holds the 46th place among 152 countries of the world.

The President demanded to take measures to control inflation. It must amount to 6% next year. At the same time, the measures taken should not damage economic development. The increase in foreign exchange earnings through exports is an important moment for the country's budget. After all, this allows the Belarusian ruble to strengthen its position, and hence the salaries of the Belarusians. The long-term investments were also touched upon at the meeting. Many significant projects have been completed. Alexander Lukashenko spoke about the draft budget for next year and emphasized the need for saving and reducing unnecessary expenses.
