The government is ready to financially support small businesses that plan to engage in import substitution with low-interest loans. The Prime Minister announced this today in the Myadel District. Here they have mastered the production of their own cheese with mold and tea with medicinal herbs. In the future the volume is planned to be increased. At the same time, they will be replacing imported analogues together with Russians. These are the components for mechanical engineering, microchips for electronics and technology in the chemical industry.
Successful project
These lines were launched 10 years ago, having calculated that cheese demand would only grow. The project paid off in 5 years. The cheese profitability is 23%.
The sample batch was tasted today. They promise to improve the texture of the mold, the development of the recipe is Belarusian.
This cheese production in Naroch is part of the holding company of Minsk Dairy Plant No. 1. The product is social and inexpensive. This is the combination that keeps it afloat by making money on outside sales. The Prime Minister urges not only large enterprises but also small businesses to join the big work on import substitution. Now there are already 16 applications in the Development Bank. Loans will be granted at an exclusive interest rate.
Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of Belarus:
Regional and sectoral plans have been approved. And such products were planned to produce $25 billion domestically. Of course, we are speeding up a little bit now. We will add another $2 billion to that amount. We have 27 new projects submitted to the Development Bank for additional financing. This is why the issue is extremely relevant for us now. Not only for us, but for the Russian Federation. If anyone does not know where to go and where to get information, I invite everyone to come directly to me. I will quickly organize everything, so that these applications will be considered very quickly.
Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of Belarus:
You know that one of the extreme packages imposed on our country was the so-called humanitarian exemptions, supposedly they do not concern deliveries of food, medical equipment, medicines, etc., but it was declared. And now when we ask for medical equipment, for example for the centers under reconstruction, we get evasive answers, to put it mildly. So the same applies to the supply of spare parts for high-tech apparatuses. Of course, we will find a way to find a solution because people cannot be left without it, without working equipment. So the way to a solution will be found in one way or another. But again, this shows how duplicitous and inconsistent the position is.
Import substitution in the National Park "Narochansky" includes medicinal herbs. They already produce dietary supplements and herbal teas, but the volume of useful plants is ready to increase. Offer, for example, the same valerian to medical enterprises, which is on the market from 7 to 10 dollars per kilogram. Previously, the lion's share of these products came from Ukraine. Now it's time to take a closer look at our own producers.
Ensure the financial stability of enterprises.
This will be a priority. At the moment the government is not chasing numbers in the forecast. It is important for enterprises to work and ensure their financial stability, because this is the very root system which will enable them to survive and develop in the future and bear good fruit.
