Business dialogue between Belarus and Russia gains particular importance in the current situation of sanctions. This was stated by Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko at the opening of a joint business forum in St. Petersburg on March 30. All attention is paid to the mutual reorientation of export supplies to unfriendly countries, as well as to the intensification of industrial cooperation. The parties are interested in the most substantive dialogue, stressed the participants. The sanctions of make the allied states speed up work on many joint projects. And technological independence today is a protection against external dictatorship in the future. Business needs support from the state. And today, both Russia and Belarus are taking the necessary measures to soften the sanctions blow.

Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of Belarus:

We must all soberly and clearly understand that there is a long game against Russia and Belarus, and no one wants to come to terms with our states being technologically independent and sovereign. Therefore, in this situation, in these conditions, our main and most effective answer will be, perhaps, a certain reassessment of the path we have been following as well as our scientific and intellectual potential.

The pace is set for a new level of trade.

The business forum will allow partners to learn better about each other's potential, strengthen the existing ties, and sign new contracts. Last year, the trade turnover between Belarus and St. Petersburg increased by 15%. The same pace is observed at the beginning of the year. The parties are interested in taking trade and cooperation to a new level.
