IAEA experts praise safety of Belarusian NPP

The specialists of the IAEA mission noted the high level of preparedness of our country's response to emergency situations at nuclear power plants. Plus, a number of practices used by Belarusian rescuers will be implemented in other countries.

Today the mission of international experts in our country is over. The commission checked the readiness of the Belarusian authorities for possible accidents at the nuclear power plant and their response to them.

The delegation visited practical rescue maneuvers.

In addition, our country was registered in the IAEA Response and Assistance Network. The main objective of this organization is international cooperation in the event of a nuclear or radiological emergency. This structure includes 31 countries, including Russia, China, Japan, USA, France and Ukraine.

The commissioning of the first power unit of the Belarusian NPP is scheduled for next year. The second power unit will be commissioned in the middle of 2020.
