Ostrovets hosts Northern Vector economic forum

25 августа 2015

The Northern Vector economic forum, which was held in Ostrovets this weekend, resulted in the signing of mutually beneficial agreements on cooperation between Belarus’ regional centres and the regions of Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. The event is the starting point for establishing closer business and cultural relations. The dialogue is expected to continue with bilateral business visits. Experts point out that the growing interest in the northern regions, expressed by foreign investors, is in no small measure caused by the construction of the Ostrovets nuclear power plant.

The regional exhibition-fair was held for the sixth time. The event is organised in such a way that each time it is hosted by one of the centres of the three Grodno region’s northern districts - Smorgon, Ostrovets and Oshmyany. By the way, this year’s exhibition-fair was attended by the representatives of China.
