Share of information and communication sector in Belarus’s GDP may double by 2025

The share of the information and communication sector in Belarus’s GDP may double by 2025 and be at least 10%. This was stated today at the board of the Ministry of Communications. Legal mechanisms have been created, the main one being the eighth decree on the development of the digital economy. Today, all industries are gradually moving to a new level of development, be it medicine, education, or industry. This year the question of infrastructure will be completely closed. Until the end of 2019, optical fiber will lead to each consumer. Services for business can be developed on this platform.

According to the ICT development index, Belarus is currently 32nd out of 176 countries. This is the highest position among the CIS countries. The top three are Iceland, South Korea and Switzerland.
