The Minister of Taxes and Duties and the Head of the State Control Committee presented a report to the President.

Two departments control tax revenues. In this matter, Alexander Lukashenko focuses on the maximum adherence to principles and exactingness.

Improving tax legislation is the main issue. Compensation for payers should be a clear and simple tax system. Due to constant adjustments in legislation and changes in tax rates, it is difficult for enterprises to adapt, hence there are errors, underpayments and fines. It is important to create comfortable conditions for payers and to automate the system of charging and calculating taxes as much as possible.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus:

Paying taxes is sacred. I often cited examples of other countries where liability for violations of tax laws is serious: in democratic countries, the United States and others. The major crime is tax evasion. Maybe that's why these are rich states. Because every person does not even think about not paying taxes or bypassing tax legislation. Many instructions have already been given and now it is necessary to assess how the process is going. It was instructed to improve tax legislation. This is the main question, how is the improvement going? Citizens should understand what for and how much they have to pay, and therefore everything should be as simple as possible.
