Belarus and the Russian Far East region are fostering cooperation. This time Minsk was visited by the delegation of the Khabarovsk Region led by the governor. And as the President accurately said today, distances are not an obstacle for the economy. Indeed, practice shows that these 10 thousand kilometers are not such a long way off. Just a month ago, Alexander Lukashenko himself visited the Far East. There, together with the Russian leader and the governors, we defined specific cooperation areas where we will move forward. Industrial cooperation, defence, agriculture, and construction are just a few examples for the Khabarovsk Krai. Lumbermen, agrarians, businessmen who want to diversify purchases and increase supplies of Belarusian products have come to us from there. So, right from the Palace of Independence we went to continue our communication with the government and enterprises.
Our people in the Far East
Governor of Primorsky Krai, Oleg Kozhemyako, positions himself as a lobbyist for Khabarovsk Territory. Positive changes in the region really began to be noticed after he arrived. Active construction of health care and housing has begun. Degtyarev himself said: The previous 20 years were a good basis for our cooperation, but it is time for a breakthrough.
Lukashenko: The experience of cooperation between Belarus and Russia should be in demand and be attractive to other countries
"Despite the large distance between Belarus and Khabarovsk region, I want to be ideologically correct. I believe that the space from Brest to Vladivostok is our common Fatherland. And despite the fact that there are now sovereign, independent states in this area, we as reasonable people need to move away from all kinds of prejudice and organize normal interaction, not worse than in the Soviet Union," said the Belarusian leader.
Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus:
We have to trade. And trade is the basis of any economy. We can supply you with equipment, machinery, construction materials, food and industrial products. But this is too easy. We should switch over to cooperation. And now is the time to create cooperative enterprises. We are ready for you not only to come here and set up cooperative enterprises, we are ready to work for you in Khabarovsk and Vladivostok if you wish so. You know our economy, it is surplus for Belarus - we export almost as much as we consume. Therefore, we can develop some areas in other countries and regions of the Russian Federation.
Lukashenko invited to visit Khabarovsk
Everyone knows about our President's plans to visit the Far East. Today the governor has also invited him to Khabarovsk Krai with a hint that there is not only something to see, but also to build there. The scale of the task demonstrates the fact that the region plans to build a million square meters of housing annually.
