As stated by Finance Minister Vladimir Amarin at today’s meeting of the ministerial board, the revenue line of Belarus’ budget for 2015 was implemented by 101.3% of the revised plan.

In 2015, priority was given to health care and education. The surplus amounted to almost 16 trillion rubles. These funds were allocated for fulfilling obligations on repaying the external debt.

The meeting also discussed this year’s activities of financial authorities. Additional revenues to Belarus’ budget are planned to be attracted at the expense of optimising benefits and costs.

Vladimir Amarin said that economic security indicators associated with the public debt were within threshold limits as of 1 January, 2016. Belarus’ national debt at that date amounted to 328.6 trillion rubles, or 32.5% of GDP with the threshold of 45%. According to the Minister, in 2015 Belarus promptly and fully met all the obligations relating to servicing and repaying the debt.
