In spite of the serious sanctions pressure, the Belarusian Metallurgy Works (BMZ) is working steadily. The Prime Minister discussed the work of the industrial giant in difficult conditions with the general director of the plant. Thus, the BMZ increased its foreign sales by almost 2.5%. In the first quarter of the year, all the indicators of the business plan were fulfilled. The EU market was one of the main markets. The Metallurgical Plant is forced to actively diversify its supplies. The task is to minimize losses, including by optimizing logistics, and to ensure rhythmic operation of the plant. As of today, a number of new wholesale contracts have already been worked out on alternative markets.

Dmitry Korchik, General Director of BMZ:

We are organizing test supplies to the CIS and RF markets. We are working on the promotion to the countries of the Middle East and South-East Asia. The plans are to complete the work in the nearest future: May, June. So that in the second half of the year we will work at full production capacity for this type of product.

Production at MTZ has increased by 8.7%.

Another industrial giant, MTZ, has its production volume increased by almost 9%.  The export is also growing. For example, at the beginning of the year the Minsk Tractor Works increased its supplies to Uzbekistan by almost a quarter.
