Our country increases the level of political interaction with its strategic ally. Belarusian-Chinese relations will acquire the status of Iron Brotherhood and All-Weather Partnership. Economic contacts are getting stronger every year - the trade with China has grown by 13% and exports went up by 21%. Direct ties between the regions also play an important role.
Today Belarus and China symbolically opened the "Joint Year of the Regions. Diplomatic exchanges were carried out between Deputy Foreign Minister Nikolai Borisevich and Chinese Ambassador to Belarus Xie Xiaoyong.

Cooperation plays an important role in interstate relations. Regions play an equally important role as the foundation of the state and an important part of interstate relations. That is why our leaders and our agencies have come to the conclusion that along with the development of interstate relations we should simultaneously strengthen cooperation between the regions in order to mobilize all the potentials of our cooperation in various spheres
The agreement on a joint Year of Regions was reached in January during a telephone conversation between our President and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.
The Year of the Regions was the third thematic year between the countries. 2018 was the Year of Tourism, followed by the Year of Education. All regions of Belarus and the city of Minsk have established twinning relations with Chinese provinces. About 20 cooperation agreements have been signed and are in operation.
