Belarus among leaders for dairy product supply to foreign markets

By Viktoria Potonya: Belarusian dairy products are currently exported to 55 countries, and the list is constantly expanding. Last year alone, the amount of cultured dairy products supplied to foreign markets amounted to 4 million tons. Experts believe there are still a lot of reserves.

Belarus’ dairy industry is export-oriented. The Brest company Savushkin Product daily processes about 2,000 tons of milk, being the only one in the CIS to have gained a foothold in the EU market. More than 50% of the company’s products are exported to 20 countries around the world, the main consumer being Russia. Due to foreign trade, the company is constantly modernising production - a new automated plant for the production of soft cheese and cottage cheese was built in Brest in record time. The company has optimised the process of goods delivery. It has a modern logistics centre for almost 7,000 pallet positions. Finished products are stored at temperatures of 2 - 6 degrees. The entire process is automated, which saves time and helps control quality.
