By Alexander Smirnov: The International Exposition Expo 2017 hosted by Astana, Kazakhstan, was open for 93 days and finished its work yesterday. Belarus was one of the 115 participating countries. As a result, the country has set up new contacts and prospects for international cooperation.

Kazakhstan is rapidly rearming, and by 2050, at least half of its energy sector is expected to be green. Such forums as Expo are the best platform for choosing the most promising developments and technologies in this field. Thus, Belarusian experts received a proposal from Kazakhstan to create a joint innovation center for scientific development.

Andrei Kosovsky, the First Vice Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus:

"We presented 50 scientific and technical projects in the energy sector of the future, which we consider to be the most outstanding, as well as 15 investment projects."

One of such projects is the Belarusian-Chinese industrial park Great Stone. Incidentally, the pavilion of China was one of the most popular pavilions at the exhibition.

According to the latest data, 4 million people visited Expo 2017. The Belarusian pavilion was among the top 20. As a result, the Belarusian scientific and technical sphere has gained a number of international contacts and options for long-term cooperation. The established contacts will allow Belarus to cooperate for years ahead.
