Belarus and Turkey define objectives for coming years

A twofold increase in turnover - up to a billion dollars a year - and strategic projects in the oil and gas sector, complex chemistry, banking and insurance, transport and logistics are the main objectives in the Belarus-Turkey relations for the next 2-3 years announced today at a meeting with the largest Turkish business delegation in the history of the bilateral relations. As noted by Deputy Prime Minister Petr Prokopovich, factors for a rapid economic growth are present in abundance.


Since the beginning of the year, Turkey has become the first country to receive a green customs corridor in the Belarusian part of the Customs Union border, visa barriers have been removed.


The Eurasian Economic Union is due to launch in January, and the Turkish business sees Belarus as a springboard for its strategic presence in the Eurasian space. Businesses are attracted by the country's political and social stability, transparent business rules, legislation liberalization, comfortable infrastructure and convenient logistics at the crossroads of the European and Eurasian markets.


The official Istanbul has repeatedly stated that is considering the possibility of joining the free trade zone of the Eurasian project. For Belarus, partnership expansion is a great opportunity to enter the Greater Middle East markets with the assistance of the Turkish business.
