Belarus and Turkey intend to systematize relations and significantly increase mutual trade

The President Belarus met with the Turkish Foreign Minister. The main goal of Mevlut Cavusoglu's visit to Minsk is expansion of mutual investment and diversification of supplies. 

The head of the Belarusian state noted that there are no closed topics between the countries. And this is a good basis for even closer cooperation. Turkey is one of our key partners in the region, and cooperation with this country is of great importance. One and a half billion dollars of commodity turnover over the next 5 years. This task was set by the Presidents of Belarus and Turkey to governments and business during the official visit of Alexander Lukashenko to Ankara in April this year. Alexander Lukashenko confirms that Turkey remains one of our key partners in the region. 

Vladimir Makei, Foreign Minister of Belarus: "We attach great importance to further expansion of the presence of Turkish business in Belarus, increasing its investment activity. As of July 1, the volume of Turkish investment in the Belarusian economy exceeded $800 million. In October they plan to hold a forum of universities in the Belarusian capital. Last academic year, 178 Turkish citizens received higher education in our universities. The countries are confident that the potential is much higher and initiate joint educational programs."
