Belarus and Mongolia plan to consolidate economic cooperation

Projects in various spheres were discussed in Ulan Bator today. The Belarusian delegation headed by the Prime Minister of Belarus is paying an official visit to Mongolia. The parties expressed interest in more intensive development of cooperation in the industrial and agricultural spheres. Several joint ventures on the production of Belarusian equipment will appear in Mongolia. Business and humanitarian contacts between the countries will consolidate the visa free regime, which was also agreed upon today.


Sergei Gusachenko reports: This is the first high level visit of the Belarusian delegation in the 20-year history of diplomatic relations. Within several years, the mutual trade increased by 15 times. It is also planned to open the Embassy of Belarus in Ulan Bator in 2014.


Norovyn Altankhuyag, Prime Minister of Mongolia: We are interested in cooperation with Belarus in a whole range of aspects, especially, in the industrial and agricultural spheres. In this case, we are referring to the creation of a whole range of joint ventures. We are also ready to support the initiative of Belarusian businessmen who are ready to invest in the economy of Mongolia.


A large service center of Belaz will be created in Mongolia. Modern mining equipment is the strategic aspect for the country, the lion's share of export of which falls at natural resources and the production of the metal mining industry.


Belarus will also help the Mongolian capital in the modernization of the agroindustrial complex. Belarusian tractors will be assembled here. The city executive board also made the decision to open a joint venture on the production of Minsk buses and trolleybuses. The parties also discussed a range of projects in logistics.


The Belarusian delegation includes the representatives of ministries, directors of enterprises and the business circles of Belarus.


Today Mikhail Myasnikovich also held negotiations with the Chairman of the Parliament and the President of Mongolia. As a result of the negotiations, a whole package of intergovernmental agreements was signed: on the waiver of visas, cooperation in the military and technical complex, as well as cooperation in education.


Tomorrow the visit of Mikhail Myasnikovich to Mongolia will continue. The head of the Belarusian government will take part in the opening ceremony of the National Exposition of Belarus, as well as the work of the Belarusian-Mongolian Business Forum.


Mikhail Myasnikovich invited the Prime Minister of Mongolia to pay a return visit to Belarus.
