Belarus and Georgia launch new joint projects

16 ноября 2017

By Veronika Buta: Issues of trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Georgia were discussed today both in the government and at a business forum. The agreements reached earlier between the two countries were documented. Plans for future work were outlined and new joint projects were launched.

As a result, the first elevators produced by MOGILEVLIFTMASH were put into operation in the suburbs of Tbilisi. The main components will be produced in Belarus and assembled in Georgia. And most importantly, together with the assembly lines, the maintenance and dispatching service is expected to be set up in Georgia, too.

In Belarus, new stores of Georgian goods will open. They will start selling Sarajishvili – the Georgian wine brandy, which is known all over the world and has the right to be considered one of the country’s best brands. Tbilisi, for its own part, will sell alcoholic beverages produced in Belarus.

Also today, Days of Belarusian Culture started in Tbilisi. Residents and guests of the Georgian capital have an opportunity to get acquainted with Belarusian movies, the works of Belarusian artists and famous musicians and performers. And on Monday, Minsk will host a parliamentary meeting between the two countries which will become a new stage of consolidating the relations.
