Belarus and Azerbaijan are long-standing partners. Regular meetings of the leaders contribute to the promotion of economic cooperation. The countries gradually overcome the decline in trade.
The basis of our export to Azerbaijan is the products of machine industry, woodworking, tires, food, medicines. Belarus imports from Azerbaijan products made of aluminum, products of petrochemistry, engineering and agriculture.
President Aliyev defined as priorities the development of the agricultural sector and the re-creation of demanded enterprises that Azerbaijan once boasted of.
A positive example of industrial cooperation is the Ganja Automobile Plant. Just at the beginning of April a 10-thousand tractor was produced there. In those days, Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko was present in Azerbaijan. As a result, the parties agreed to increase the assembly of MAZ auto-equipment and arrange the production of buses. It is possible that the assembly of agricultural machinery will be organized in Azerbaijan. An agreement has been reached to work out projects to create assembly production of Belarusian elevators, diesel generators, and to supply electric buses to Azerbaijan.
