Banking support for integration projects of Belarus and Russia was discussed today in Minsk at a meeting of Igor Shuvalov, Chairman of the State Development Corporation VEB, RF, and Vasily Matyushevsky, Chairman of the Board of Bank BelVEB OJSC, within the framework of the strategic session of financial institutions. The parties reviewed the strategy of Bank BelVEB until 2021, which provides for a profound transformation. In particular, they talked about reformatting BelVEB Bank into an effective Fintech group. The new strategy includes: corporate and investment business and integration projects, SME and retail business, transformation of sales channels, reengineering of the bank. In addition, the issue of creating an ecosystem for customers and partners and the creation of a new service model were discussed.

Among the areas of integration business development are cross-border financing of Russian exports to Belarus, financing the export of Belarusian-Russian products to third countries, financial support for new industries.

The retail network of the bank expects digital development and introduction of new innovative products. Major changes are expected in the work of the bank with small and medium-sized enterprises: new digital products and services, partnership projects will also appear. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to complete work on the strategy in the near future and adopt the document before the end of this year.
