The President got acquainted with the samples of the company's products, as well as the process of assembling advanced models. Things are going well. The equipment manufacturer has already earned over $93 million from exports this year. The growth in production volumes also significantly exceeds the plan. Work is underway to reduce costs and optimize production capacity. New models are being developed. It is planned to introduce a new generation of machines with a capacity of up to 18 tons of grain per hour within 5 years. The holding also thought about comprehensive modernization. Using this flagship as an example, we can say: the stake in the development of industry and support for enterprises turned out to be correct.
The President was informed about the development of Gomel Region. Warehouse stocks at Gomselmash have decreased by about three times. As the President was informed, this positive trend is noted in Gomel Region as a whole. Stocks of finished products in the region have been reduced by 36% for 9 months, and production volumes have increased by the same amount. There are some problems with exports. This is due to the pandemic and the state of the world economy. A decline in export supplies is also observed at Belorusneft. However, the concern is developing and intends to increase production and oil production: both fields in Polesie and Russia will be more actively involved.
The topic of mechanical engineering was also raised during the conversation between the head of state and the factory workers. Such a direct dialogue is already a tradition. The President considers it very important to preserve and develop the country's machine-building potential. The presence of such industry flagships is not only prestige and economy but also the development of scientific potential, advanced ideas of engineers and designers. There are about fifty labor collectives at Gomselmash. And, of course, everyone is concerned about the future fate of the giant.
A. Lukashenko: the basis is to preserve mechanical engineering
"For me, this is the basis to preserve mechanical engineering. The main thing is that we will have engineers, designers, managers," he noted. "I will never go to ruin what I have done with my own hands. Therefore, there will be mechanical engineering in the country."
The conversation was not limited only to the topic of mechanical engineering. People were interested in social issues. Thus, the President instructed the government to comprehensively consider the issues of supporting large families. There were a lot of topics in communication.
