Today, the Government was considering in detail the socio-economic prospects of the coming year. One of the main tasks set is balanced economic growth: i.e. without jerks and falls, with the support of export, small and medium-sized businesses, opening new markets. The second task is efficiency: it involves rejection of subsidies to regular bankrupts, outsourcing, sale or transfer of inefficient state property to investors, as well as saving measures. Export is regarded as the third main task. The Ministry of Economy is confident about the export growth of 9 - 11% that will unload stock, strengthen the national currency and allow enterprises to develop. Among other priorities there are also cheaper loans and rising real wages. However, as the profile Minister emphasized, income growth should not significantly outpace the growth in labor productivity as it was in the past year.
Radical changes awaiting agricultural and housing services sectors
14 января 2014
Two major meetings involving the President and the entire power vertical are scheduled for this spring. According to the Prime Minister for Agriculture, 10 draft regulations have already been prepared. They are to improve rural economy, to reduce non-productive costs, to optimize personnel and, most importantly, to expand foreign exchange export, which is the priority number 1 for the coming year. The first such meeting with the Head of State on the construction virtually revolutionized the sector. Most long-delayed constructions were eliminated, a unified social price per square meter was set, state order was introduced, and designing and contracting work was put to rights. The upcoming meetings are expected to result in equally ambitious decisions on the agricultural sector and on the sore issues of housing and communal services.
