Belarus’ agroindustrial complex will be based on cost reduction, increase in energy efficiency and agricultural product exports in the next five years, as announced by First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Leonid Marinich at a meeting in Grodno. By 2020, the country's agricultural sector is expected to exceed 6 billion dollars in exports.

Meanwhile, according to experts, it is now important to continue modernising agroindustrial production spheres. The introduction of new technologies makes it possible to reduce the cost of purchasing energy and fuel, which are the main expenditure items in the industry.

The prospect of reducing energy consumption with no compromise in the quality and quantity of produced goods has positive dynamics. The planned modernisation has allowed saving more than 600,000 tons of equivalent fuel in the agroindustrial sector of the Grodno region alone. The economic effect from introducing the energy-efficient technologies at the Grodno dairy factory has made up 1.5 billion dollars.
